Bir Billing Traffic Advisory, Routes and Parking Guide
Bir Billing is a small town, and on busy days its narrow roads fill up quickly. This guide explains when traffic is at its worst, which routes to take from Palampur, Baijnath, Mandi and Jogindernagar, where to park, and how to exit smoothly, so your paragliding day starts without stress.

Peak Times
- Peak days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, every week
- Peak hours: 8 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM
- Daily evening jam: Volvo buses move between 4 PM and 8 PM, which causes a jam for a few hours. Please avoid this time if you can.
Route Diversion
The diversion point is Chougan Chowk. Traffic is one way from the Paragliding Landing Site towards Chougan Chowk, so entry to the Landing Site from Chougan Chowk is restricted. Local police manage the diversion to keep traffic moving.
How to Reach the Paragliding Landing Site
From Palampur and Baijnath Side
During peak hours, use the Bhattu route to stay clear of the Chougan Chowk jam.

Park at the Chougan Chowk parking near the wine shop and walk about 1.5 km to the Landing Site. You skip the traffic completely, and the walk through the Tibetan Colony is a good way to see the town.
Drive Route (about 5 km)
There is also on-road parking along this route before the entry.
Avoiding Chougan Chowk in the Evening
Between 4 PM and 8 PM, use one of these alternate routes:

Exit Plan
Peak hours are busy in both directions, so plan your exit as carefully as your entry. The good news is that exiting is easier than entering:
- The roads after Chougan Chowk are broader, and the National Highway is close to Bir Billing, which makes movement easy.
- The road is open up to Chougan Chowk, and then it is a 2-lane road all the way to the National Highway.
- If you are travelling towards Baijnath, follow the Bir Road route via Chougan Chowk for a smooth exit.
Smooth Entry and Exit Loop (Less Traffic)
