Paragliding Cross Country Pre World Cup 2023, Bir Billing.
Cross country XC World Cup organizing in Bir Billing from 26 October to 2 November, 2023.
Competition organized by Himachal Pradesh Tourism, Billing Paragliding Association (BPA.), Paragliding World Cup Association, France and Aviation minister of Himachal Pradesh. This is 2nd such competition in India and at Bir Billing. Earlier Paragliding World Cup organized in 2015. Which was big success and made Bir Billing very popular among adventure lovers. Paragliding Pre-World Cup 2023 is also a big event for Bir Billing. There are Cricket World Cup matches also at Dharamshala which is just 70 km away.
180 pilots from 28 nations participating XC paragliding pre-world Cup, Oct – Nov, 2023. Countries as Australia, Norway, France, Sweden, New Zealand. China, Germany, Belgium, South Africa, Iran, The United Arab Emirates, Iran, US, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria. Norway, Nepal, Canada, The Czech Republic, Norway and few others.
Many Indian participants, local Bir Pilots also participating. Pilots from Indian Army, Navy and Air force also participating XC paragliding Pre-world cup Bir Billing 2023.
Pre world cup 2023 Flag off by CPS Baijnath MLA Shri Kishori Lal ji on 26 October, 2023. From 27 October onwards pilots given task to complete get points. There are routes, which has few points to touch and return back to Paragliding landing area. Whole route is monitored by GPS attached with pilots. Pilots also have to maintain altitude, if they gain extra height or loose minimum height given, than they are disqualified. Points calculated from on day to tasks from all days to decide winner.

Importance of Events.
Such big events boost local economy of Tourist destination. As Bir Billing is not much known destination, so events help boosting popularity and tourists add Bir Billing in their itineraries. Bir Billing has many more adventures other than Paragliding. Valley is located at the foothills of Dhouladar range of Himalayas and rich of natural heritage of treks.
