Paragliding Guideline by Tourism Department for Operators.
- Minimum Charges for Paragliding are fixed as INR 3000/- by all operators at Bir Billing. Any operator violating this rule has to face suspension for 3 months.
- Tandem Pilot flying in Bad weather will be suspended for 3 months.
- Acrobats are strictly prohibited in tandem paragliding. Pilots are not allowed to do stunts and unsafe flying. Pilots not following these norms are banned for 3 months and equipment is also seized by the Tourism department.
- Paragliding start time is 600 hrs and till 1800 hrs for Paragliding flights in Bir Billing valley.
- Tourism Department fixed minimum age of 12 Years for Paragliding.
- Insurance is compulsory for pilots and guests flying. The operator charges INR 150/- from guests for insurance, which is an extra over INR 3000/-.No one is allowed to fly without insurance.
- Now tourists visiting the Billing paragliding take-off point have to pay INR 100/- per vehicle (Tax is collected by Special Area Development Authority (SADA) ) at the tax barrier near the start of the Billing road neat Primary health center. Bikes are also charged for the same.
- Special Area Development Authority (SADA) also charges INR 50/- for each flight and keeps checking for pilots flying with licenses.
- Paragliding guideline must be followed Tour operators and Travel agents of Bir Billing.
- No three person allowed to fly together even its small kids or couple. Safety is priority for all operators.
