Best way to do RajGundha Village trek as per Months of Year/ climatic conditions.
Villagers here at Raj Gundha are semi nomadic as reside here in summer and from Mid March to Mid November. They grow potato, cabbage, cauliflower, Reddish, Kidney beans (Rajma), Pea, Tomato. Few villagers are shepherds and travel to upper grazing fields of mountains with their flocks. And during winter they shift to lower homes at Bir, where no snow.
As these villages has 2 homes so called semi nomadic. Now the Raj gundha village is connected with road and connecting bridge over Uhl river which increase connectivity. Village has electricity and phone connectivity as well. A forest department store and now few basic guest houses.
RajGundha village trek experience very heavy snowfall during the months of Dec, Jan, Feb and till mid March) trekking to Raj gundha village is tough and risky and at few points. Trek / road is totally covered with snow and made it steep slope to deep cliff. Suggestion to trek till snow point and return. Road is closed during this period. Camping at Raj Gundha is also closed, if someone offer camping there then also avoid it for safety. Village is very cold and chilling winds from mountains. Villagers also sift to lower homes at Bir and Thathi village. Thathi village is 5 hrs.’ trek away by crossing Chirgotu pass (closed in winter).
October to Mid December and April to June (No Snow)
Day 1— Bir to Channa pass Drive (22 km/1.5 hrs.’— drive)
Channa to Hanuman Garh—2 hrs trek and again return in 1.5 hrs.’ to Channa pass. (3.5 hrs.’ moderate trek)
Channa to Raj Gundha drive (6 km /30 mins drive)
Night stay at Raj Gundha village in Dome tents (cold during nights)
Day 2– Raj Gundha to Chirgotu Jot at 9000 fts (2 hrs tough trek)
Chirgotu Jot to Thathi village (2 hrs easy trek)
Thathi village to Gharnala village Trek (2 hrs easy trek)
Night stay in Machaan Tents at Camp Oak View (Luxury Camping in Bir Billing.)
Day 3– Paragliding session and Departure
Per Person cost is INR 8900 including Paragliding, 2 nights stay, taxi day 1, guide, trek guide, meals.

Hanuman Garh to Billing (2.5 hr. downhill trek easy to moderate )
Billing to Camp Oak View drive (18 Km / 1 hr. drive)

Day 2– Paragliding session and Departure

October to Mid December – Pre winter –
Pre snowfall its safe to travel Rajgundha village and open by trek, road. Camping option is also open and safe. One can also do trek to Thathi village from Raj gundha to Reach Camp Oak View on same day. This is best trekking route.
Mid December to Mid March – Winters.
Its snowfall period here and 1st heavy snowfall happen somewhere last week of December to 1st week of January. Raj Gundha village experience snowfall up to 3-4 feet and all roads and trekking trails are covered with snow and its become unsafe to travel to valley. One can slip to deep valley if not used to travel in snow and ice. Camping also closed during this very cold weather conditions. Tourists can drive till Billing and trek for few kilometers with guide to see snow or till Channa pass or Hanuman Garh if conditions permit but not without guide and return to Bir on same day. Pre snowfall its safe to travel Rajgundha village and open by trek, road. Camping option is also open and safe.

Mid June to Mid October – Monsoon
All treks are open but carry rains gears but avoid Thathi village trek due to monsoon forest is full of blood shucking leeches. Billing and Raj gundha is free from leaches but Thathi trek has leeches. so follow below instructions for treks as per months.
