Bir to Sach pass to Manali :- 600 km/3 Days
Bir – Dalhousie – Bairagarh – Sach pass – Killar – Udaipur – Trilokinath – Tandi – Sisu – Rohtang pass – Manali
Operation Season : – June to October
Day 1:- Bir to Dalhousie to Bairagarh (280 km/10 hrs)
Start early in the morning from Bir to Dalhousie and then to Khajjiar. Spend some time at Khajjiar and later drive to Bairagarh. Khajjiar is a lake surrounded by Deodara trees.
Break your journey at Khajjiar, spend somewhere 1 hr there and continue your journey. Roads are in good conditions till Bairagarh. Fill your fuel tanks and Tissa, which is last fuel station on this side of Sach pass. Tissa is 30 km before Bairagarh.
Overnight stay at Hotel /Guest houses in Bairagarh.
Enroute meals option :– few restaurant before Nurpur, Dalhouie, Kajjiyar.
Fuel stations:- Palampur, Nagrota, shahpur, Nupur, chobari, Dalhouisie, Tissa (last fuel station – full you tank)
Stay options:- Kajjiyar, Dalhousie, chamba, tissa, Bairagarh (2-3 hotels and home stays, few very basic camping option post Bairagarh on left side of road) and Govt guest houses- forest ad HPPWD.
Tips:- Cover sightseeing on Day 1 quicly – Kajjiyar, Dalhousie. So that comfortable and easy travel in Sach pass day to enjoy the valley and off roading.

Day 2:- Bairagarh to Udaipur enroute Killar and Sach Pass (160 km / 10-11 hrs)
Start early in the morning from Bairagarh. There is check post just after Bairagarh – they click you picture with your vehicle and enter your details. Offroad start from Bairagarh. Sach pass is 30 km from here takes 2-3 hrs. There are so many waterfalls, small streams and dense Devdara, Oak, Barch, Brown Oak, Rue, Rai forest and later you enter to no tree zone as you gain altitude. As early you start, you find view otherwise area is covered with clouds or fog which make less visibility. You find waterfalls every 8-9 km. Valley is full of flowers in late July to September. Sach pass is at the altitude of 4500 mts from sea level has a temple at top.
Now you see pangi valley from here. Start descending towards Killar which is 40 km from here takes 3 hrs to reach. Narrow trail with streams crossing, waterfalls and road broadening work decrease you speed. Killar is located on the right Bank of ChandraBhaga or Chenab river. You have to cross river to reach Killar.
Continue you journey towards Udaipur whic his 84 km from Killar takes 4 hrs. Whole journey is on the right bank of Rive Chandra Bhaga or Chenab. Deep gourge and narrow road and total unmetalled roads or off road. There are so many Govt rest houses of Forest, you can stay any of them enroute, if you stuck anywhere.
Udaipur has few hotels, houses and few home stays at Trilokinath.

Enroute meals option :– few Dhabba before Sach pass, one after Sach pass, Killar.
Fuel stations:- Killar.
Stay options:-Few hotels at Killar, may Govt forest guest houses from Killar to Udaipur, Udaipur and Trilokinath
Tips:- Start early in the morning to reach Udaipur on time.

Day 3:- Udaipur – Manali via Trilokinath and Rohtang pass (160 km 5-6 hrs)
Morning visit Trilokinath Temple which is 8 km from Udaipur, Trilokinath temple has importance for Both Hindu’s and Buddhists. Later continue your journey to Manali. Road condition is improved from here as road is metalled. Enroute pass Tandi – fuel station. This is the place where you meet Leh – Ladakh Road. Road condition is very good till koksar for next 40 km. You can see various waterfalls, hanging glaciers on the other side of river and Rohtang tunnel North face. Tunnel is supposed to start from 2019.
Reach koksar entry at check post, have a tea or magi break or meals available here. Resume journey to cross rohang.

Fuel stations:- Tandi.
Stay options:-Sisu and Manali
Tips:- Easy day, enjoy ride and view, start on time to reach on time, Drive slow to enjoy.

Day 4:- Easy day at Manali
Visit Manali, temples, Mall road, cafe’s at Old Manali, hot water springs, Naggar, Solang, Vashist temple, Hadimba temple, Anjani Mahadev Temple.
