Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Dharamshala and Trek to Kareri Lake
- 0700 hrs, meeting point: Meet at Dharamshala ISBT.
- Drive to Nouli village (30 km, about 1 hr): Drive 25 km to Kareri village and stop for breakfast (pay directly). Then drive another 5 km to Nouli, the starting point of the trek.
- Trek to Kareri Lake (10 km, 5 to 6 hrs, starts about 1100 hrs): The trail runs along the stream on its left bank. The first river crossing comes after about 30 minutes and is easy over stepping stones. You walk through forest of rhododendron, oak, deodar, blue pine, pine, brown oak, rai and tosh.
- Lunch: After about 2 more hours you reach a lunch point where food is available at fair prices (pay directly).
- Camp: Continue to the camping area, 200 m before Kareri Lake. Pitch tents, settle in and visit the lake and the temple. Return before dark.
- Dinner and overnight: Dinner and overnight stay in dome tents at Kareri Lake.
Day 2
Kareri Lake to Nouli and Drive to Bir
- Morning: Breakfast at camp.
- Trek down to Nouli (10 km, 4 to 5 hrs): Descend to the road head.
- Drive to Bir (90 km, 3 to 4 hrs): Transfer to Camp Oak View in Bir.
- Dinner and overnight: Dinner and overnight stay at Camp Oak View, Bir.
Day 3
Paragliding Session and Departure
- Morning: Breakfast, then drive 18 km to the Billing take-off point.
- Paragliding: A 15 to 20 minute tandem paragliding flight, landing at Bir.
- Explore Bir: Visit the Tibetan colony for monasteries and cafes, then depart.

Exclusions
- Arrival and departure travel
- Travel insurance covering medical evacuation, hospitalization, baggage and trip cancellation
- Any meals other than those specified in the program
- Personal expenses such as beverages, telephone calls, tips and gratuities, laundry etc.
- Personal trek equipment such as clothes, shoes, day packs and personal medical kit
- Emergency expenses, or liability for disturbance in the trip program caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as airline delays, road blocks, vehicle malfunctions, weather conditions, sickness, natural disasters and riots
Important Notes
- Be prepared for a cold night at Kareri Lake.
- There is no electricity at Kareri. There is plenty of drinking water, but none for bathing or toilet use. We try to set up dry pit toilet tents.
- We try to combine guests into groups. This package needs a minimum of 2 to 4 guests travelling together.
Good to know: Weather in the mountains can change quickly. In case of road blocks or bad weather, our team may adjust the plan to keep the group safe.
