RajGundha Trek

Highlights of RajGundha.

RajGundha village is small hamlet where tribal community inhabitants resides. Resident here are seminomadic in nature as they have two homes – one at Rajgundha and other in lower planes at Bir, Thathi and sansal village. Rajgundha is located at the atitude of 8100 fts from sea level. Climate at RajGundha is cold in all seasons and experience very heavy snowfall during winters from Jan to March. Roads and trek to RajGudha closed during that time and not safe as heavy layer of slippery snow at few valley edges. Rajgudha has old traditional houses but now due to tourist movement bit commercialize and concreate contraction increasing day by day.

RajGundha is now connected with roads for two sides. Village Rajgundha is 26 kms from Bir via Billing takes 2 hrs by driving no buses in this route only private taxi. Other is through Barot via Badagran village which is 22 km from Barot. Second option via barot is also done by local bus. There are direct buses from Bir to Badagran and then trek for 5 km to reach RajGundha.

2 Days 1 Night Trekking and Camping Package to RajGundha Village.

Day 1:- Bir to Billing (Drive for 18 km/ 1 hr)

Billing to RajGundha (Trek 12 km/ 5-6 hrs)

Morning at 1100 hrs meet us at Paragliding Landing site. Meet guide and drive for 18 km to reach starting point of trek Billing. Spend sometime here for refilling waterbottles before trek. Trek start with instant hike to upper take off point and then meet Billing Rajgundha road. Trek is easy after reaching road and takes another 2 hrs to reach mid point Channa Ghat. Channa ghat is highest point of trek and has a maggi shop as well. After Channa trek enters other valley towards Raj Gundha which is bit colder and gradual downhill. Trek is another one and half hour from here. Now you can see Thamsar Mountain peak, Chota Bhangal valley all the way and raod to Barot on the other side of Uhl river. You can recognize villages on other side as group of houses – Kothikod, Nahlota and Badagran villages. Follow the road and reach Raj Gundha. Pitch tents and stay overnight here in Dome Tents.

Day 2:- Raj Gundha to Billing(trek for 12 km/ 5 hr)

Billing to Bir (Trek 18 km/ 1 hrs)

Moring post breakfast start trek from RajGundha to Billing. trek is same as previous day but option to hike to hanuman Garh which is highest point of Valley at 10500 fts from sea level and all round view of mountains and valley other side. Trek is bit difficult and tkes longer than normal trek. If good trekker opt for Hanuman Garh and reach Billing in evening. Option to do paragliding in evening (pay directly or let us know to book, we arrange while you reach back at Billing). Reach Billing and drive Back to Bir and departure.

Exclusions for Camping and trekking trip of RajGundha

Paragliding session, can be added with supplement charges.
Extra meals other than itinerary.
Travel insurance covering medical evacuation, hospitalization, baggage insurance and trip cancellation.
Any meals other than specified in the program.
Mountain Bikking session.
Any en-route or personal expenses such as alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages, telephone calls, tips & gratuities, laundry etc.
Personal equipment for trek like clothes, shoes, day packs, personal medical kit etc. However, light weight carry-mattresses with sleeping bags will be provided by us inside the tents during the trek.
Any exigency expenses caused by or liability for disturbance in trip program due to circumstances beyond our normal control. Such as airline delays, road blocks, vehicle malfunctions, weather conditions, sickness, natural disasters, riots etc.
